Customer Review – Digital Nomads Earning Whilst Exploring Australia
We both run our own online businesses, so we wanted to spend a full year in Australia before deciding whether we could see ourselves living there permanently.
Instead of renting an apartment in one part of Sydney, we bought a custom made Toyota Pop Top Campervan. It gave us the chance to live in completely different parts of the country while continuing to work every day.
Over the year we spent time in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Byron Bay. We could work comfortably from the campervan, then close the laptops and actually experience what life was like in each area.
It turned out to be the perfect way to make such a big decision. We had a fantastic year exploring Australia, but eventually realised it was not where we wanted to settle long term.
At the end of the trip we sold the campervan and moved on to our next adventure. We are now living in the Nelson region of New Zealand, which turned out to be the place that felt right for us.
Buying the Pop Top gave us something an apartment never could. A whole year to work, travel and genuinely find out where we wanted to live.
